Another day

So, things are going really good.. Jahnaiya is getting so big, this girl grows everyday.. I can't keep up with the clothes and shoes! Today it was beautiful here and I actually didn't have to work in the morning it was so nice... Jahnaiya and I layed in her bed when she woke up and read books well 1 book that she wanted me to read over and over again! These little things make life great.. We got to spend time outside and play.. shes learning to ride a bike with training wheels and shes doing pretty good so far. She really just got interested in sitting down and watching a whole movie. So. my mom bought her the Bee movie and she wants to watch it everyday like 3 times.. she quotes things from the movie, its so cute! I'm just happy I can get her to watch a movie so, I can get a few things done around the house.

Jahnaiya has school tommorow which she loves, shes been going since last July, she wasn't even 3 yet but, they let her in early because of her maturity and independence! (very proud momma). Shes been doing so well you know somedays I forget she has SB.

My mom was in town over the weekend from North Carolina, shes working there for the year! I hate not having her home but, we had a great weekend.... I miss her allready.. shes one of the only people that really understands me when it comes to my daughter and also that I can leave my daughter with overnight. So, yes mommy got a night out! Woo Hoo! But, nowadays I have 4 drinks and pay for it for 2 days.. Just can't do it like I use to..

God Bless!

Where has the time gone?

So, My baby is now 31/2 years old.. Its unbelievable how this time has gone so quick.. and I have been loving every minute of it.. So, the last couple years have been so busy, and full of happiness. Jahnaiya came home from the hospital and my life just changed forever.. Its absolutely amazing the love I have for this little girl. For a first time mom things were scary we had to keep a close eye on Jahnaiya for infection, she came home with a flap on her back to protect her surgery site. Honestly now that I look back it wasn't bad.. I just did what was best for her.. shes my first so, I don't know any different so, basically changing a butt flap, or cathing or giving meds every 4 hrs was just normal to me. And from then on she just started growing up.. she started Physical Therapy at 3 months and what a blessing. we had an awesome therapist Dana she became a great friend and I cannot begin to Thank her enough she showed me so many things and to this day I believe my daughter reached many milestones because of her shes definately an Angel in my book.

Jahnaiya was such a good baby, She hardly ever cried, slept through the night, was happy all the time! She started sitting up at 5 months, rolling at around 61/2, talking at 10(and she hasnt stopped yet!lol) crawling around 12, pulling to stand and cruising around 13-14 months. and finally walking unassisted at 22 months.. right before her second bday! What a day! A day I was told by some doctors I may never see.. She has proved them wrong in so many ways!

We have had many SB clinic appts, Mris, VCUGs, sonograms, catscans, Emergency room visits just for scares thank God thats all it was. Its all been well worth... So Fast Forward to 2009 and I have the sweetest, funniest little girl who couldn't make her mom any happier shes awesome, Jahnaiya now wears AFOs to support her ankle when she walks, No more Physical Therapy, she takes meds still 3 times a day and she does have a neurogenic bladder which we are at the moment trying to work out a program for her.. Other than that my daughter is a very healthy, normal child, She walks, runs, jumps, plays, sings(all the time), dances, shes smart, shes hardheaded, she has a temper.. and I love her (she acts just like her mom!lol) All and all my life is great and I just pray to God to continue healing my child and help me be the best mother I can to her.

My Little girl

I wanted to start this for my daughter Jahnaiya, shes the absolute love of my life and I love telling everyone about her! Jahnaiya was born Nov 9, 2005 with Myleomenengicele Spina bifida, hydrocephulis, and neurogenic bladder.. ( I still can't spell half this stuff). She had surgery the second day of her life to close a hole in her spine around the lumbar 5 Sacral 1 area. Surgery went well she recovered great and we were sent home 5 days later with our beautiful little girl... scary but, so exciting.. shes my first by the way.. Jahnaiyas hydro was fine for the firs 6 months and then her head size was growing a little to fast this was her only symptom of hydro. so she need another surgery. Usually they perform a surgery were a shunt is place from the head to the abdomen..But, thank God for our awesome neurosurgeon there was a fairly new procedure called ETV where they do the same surgery but, there is nothing placed inside your childs body..so Jahnaiya had this procedure and its worked shes now 31/2 and has had no issues to date.. Thank God once again.. We have been extremely blessed with Jahnaiya in so many ways.. I can't even remember my life before her.. So, I just wanted to start this a little today but, I will definately be adding more.. Thank you to all thats interested.
